Rivers Casino Portsmouth Charity Test Night

WHAT: Signaling the final steps toward grand opening, Rivers Casino Portsmouth will operate a real-money test night — a requirement by the Virginia Lottery Board to ensure all gaming operations are performing as expected prior to the casino’s Jan. 23 grand opening date. 

Players keep their winnings; however, earnings are donated rather than retained by the casino. Donation amounts will be determined by the level of play, and each select test event charity partner will receive an equal share of the combined two-day outcome.

WHO: Test event proceeds will benefit three local nonprofits:

• Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters
• USO Hampton Roads and Central Virginia
• Wesley Community Service Center

Due to the limited timeframe of active gaming at test events, guest attendance is by invitation only. Guest lists for the test events have already been determined based on participating organizations.

Interior photography and videography are permitted. So not to disrupt gamers, live broadcasts are permitted outdoors only, near the water feature and event lawn.

All Charity Test Event attendees must be over 21 to access the gaming floor.
